GHK-Cu – Copper Tripeptide-1 | 100 mg
GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide composed of glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine complexed with a divalent copper ion (Cu²⁺). It plays a central role in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and anti-inflammatory signaling, and has been studied for its regenerative properties in dermatology and age-related conditions.
Scientific Background:
Discovered in human plasma, GHK-Cu has been shown to:
- Stimulate collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis
- Promote angiogenesis and attract immune and progenitor cells to injury sites
- Act as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent
- Upregulate proteasome function and gene expression linked to DNA repair, cell proliferation, and anti-cancer responses
Research by Pickart et al. (J Biomater Sci Polym Ed, 2008) and others has shown that GHK-Cu modulates over 4,000 human genes, many associated with healing, anti-fibrotic pathways, and anti-tumor activity. It also protects keratinocytes from apoptosis induced by oxidative stress and UV radiation, and enhances hair follicle stimulation and skin firmness in cosmetic models.
Key Research Areas:
- Skin regeneration and wound healing
- Hair growth stimulation
- Anti-aging and cosmetic dermatology
- Tissue repair and anti-fibrosis
- Copper transport and metal ion regulation
